Beaufort Hill Woodlands is an 81 hectare site of open green space north of Beaufort. Most of the site is an industrial mining landscape. The ponds contained within the woodlands are the source of the River Ebbw Fach. Part of the area includes Mynydd Llangattock Common – important for notable species such as Snipe and breeding Lapwing. The area is popular for walking, angling, birdwatching and informal recreation.
