Type: Town
Blaenavon (Blaenafon - source of river) is a World Heritage Site high on a hillside. The walking and cycling routes available will allow you to discover the museums, monuments, quirky independent shops (one makes award winning cheeses - they're lovely!) art galleries and much more!
The heart of the town is now protected as a conservation area and is surrounded by a spectacular and unique landscape which provides a fascinating setting to explore using the extensive network of footpaths.
The town's main shopping area in Broad Street has been restored to a high conservations standard which replicates traditional Victorian shop-fronts from the early 1900's.
