When the lights go down, things warm up here in The Valleys!

Entertainment, Valleys style, is as hot or as cool as you want it to be. It could be a cosy pint in pub and a chat with the locals, or dancing till dawn at one of our funky clubs. Music plays a big part in The Valleys scene (we’re not home to the Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics for nothing), so you’ll find live rock, folk and jazz every night of the week at a variety of venues.

There’s also plenty of nourishment for culture vultures. Richard Burton and Anthony Hopkins halse from the west of the region and their legacy lives on Local theatres – a Valleys tradition – still thrive here together with an eclectic mix of arts centres (such as Blackwood Miners’ Institute and the Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd), staging exhibitions and evenings of comedy and poetry as well as music and drama.

Film buffs can catch the latest Hollywood releases at a wide range of multiscreen cinemas. You’re also well catered for if you like eating out, with everything from fine dining and traditional treats like Welsh lamb to bistros and gastropubs serving modern, inventive cuisine.
