Get Involved

As a Valleys resident, you are what gives the area its Heart and Soul, so here’s how you can get more involved...

Ambassador Training

We are currently arranging training sessions in local areas when we have sufficient interest (12-16 people per training session). We are more than happy to visit you and your group to present further information if you prefer.

We are looking for individuals and community groups to;

  • Provide a warm Welsh welcome
  • Be passionate about The Valleys
  • Promote their local history & heritage

You will also have the chance to meet like-minded people and fellow Ambassadors at networking events across the Valleys Regional Park – an area which stretches from Kidwelly to Cwmbran!

Application Form

If you are interested in taking part then just complete the application form and either email or post back to us. Click here to download an application form.

Current Valleys Ambassadors

We now have over 160 trained Ambassadors within The Valleys. These include volunteers, park rangers, anglers, green badge guides, teachers, A-level students, visitor centre staff and friends groups. We have held training sessions in Blaengwynfi, Bettws, Brynaman, Cwmaman, Cwmbran, Ferndale, Merthyr, Parc Taff Bargoed, Penderyn, Pontardawe. Senghenydd & Six Bells, using venues at the heart of each community and providing food from local source and suppliers. We have also started to work with businesses that come into direct contact with visitors and have recently trained a taxi company in Merthyr. Click here to view a video!

Case Studies

Our trainers produce a short report of each community group trained, these are known as Postcards. Just click on one of the postcards below to view.
