Type: Heritage / Visitor Centre
The Centre features films, interactive screens and exhibitions which explain the story of the people of Blaenavon who transformed a mountian landscape through ironmaking and coalmining during the Industrial Revolution. Visit the Tourist Information Centre and gift shop, as well as enjoy refreshments in the Heritage Cafe. Look out for the annual programme of exhibitions, events and educational activities. Facilities at the Centre are available for hire for events such as meeting, conferences, lunches and other events.

From the M4, follow signs for Big Pit National Mining Museum of Wales, as you enter the World Heritage Site, you will see brown and white signs for the World Heritage Centre - both from Pontypool, Abergavenny and Brynmawr directions.
