Pontypool Rugby Football Club is a Welsh rugby union team based in the town of Pontypool. Pontypool RFC has a long history within Welsh rugby and is one of the most notable clubs, being present at the formation of the Welsh Rugby Union in 1881, but disbanding before the turn of the 19th century.
The club reformed in 1901, the club's accepted formation date, and produced many notable Wales and British Lions international players; most notably the Jones brothers in the early 1900s and the Pontypool Front Row of Charlie Faulkner, Graham Price and Bobby Windsor in the 1970s. The club's 'Golden Era' is generally accepted as the 1970s and 80s when under the coaching of Ray Prosser the first team won the Welsh Club Championship in 1973 and 1975.
Today Pontypool RFC play in the Welsh Premier Division, is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Newport Gwent Dragons. Pontypool play their home matches at Pontypool Park.

At Woodlands Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A4042 (signposted Abergavenny, M4 East). At Croes-Y-Mwyalch Roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A4042 (signposted Abergavenny). At Crown Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A4042 (signposted Abergavenny)
At Turnpike roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A4042 (signposted Abervagenny). At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A4042 (signposted Abergavenny, Pontypool). At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A4042 (signposted Abergavenny, Pontypool)
At roundabout (McDonalds) take the 2nd exit onto the A472 (signposted Pontypool). At Pontypool Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A4043 (signposted Pontypool, Blaenavon)
At Albion Road Roundabout take the 3rd exit (signposted Town Centre)
At Clarence Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Clarence Street. Follow the bend past the 3 car sales garages then turn first left after the last one. The car pak is behind the Active Living Centre and the ground is in the park.
