Type: Cycle Route
The Hengoed Viaduct to Taff Bargoed is one of Sustrans' Routes2ride which features the best cycle rides in Wales. The route begins a few miles north of Caerphilly, climbs gently from Hengoed Viaduct through Nelson and Trelewis to the climbing centre at Taff Bargoed.
For much of its lenght the traffic free route runs parallel to an existing railway line on a specially built cyclepath.
There are a vast number of attractions which can be seen along the route including the mighty Hengoed Viaduct which spans the Rhymney River and is celebrated with its magnificent 'Wheels of Drams' artwork.
